Fall. The season of crisp air, falling leaves and Cinnamon everything! I know most people think it’s the season of Pumpkin but not for this girl it’s not! Fall has always been a cinnamon season for myself and I think Cinnamon dolse’s are better tasting anyway! 🙂
But one thing about fall is that usually the weather starts to get a little nasty, or really nasty depending on where you live, and it’s hard to figure out some fun date ideas besides dinner and a movie. This is where I’ve come up with some fun unique date ideas for you and your spouse to try!
When was the last time you built a fort? I bet for most of us it’s been 10 years or more! Well it’s time to brush up on your couch cushion stacking and blanket layering skills again and pitch an inside tent fort that you and your spouse can cuddle under and either go hard core inside camping and use no electronics and read together or play card or board games until you both fall asleep, or turn on the TV and make some stove top pop corn and drink hot cider out of a thermos!
Book store & coffee shop date, with a twist!
Find an amazing book store, maybe it’s one you go to often, or maybe you take this date one step farther and discover a new bookstore. When you get there both of you find a book to read together, I highly recommend my favorite non fiction series first book Harry Potter and the Sorcery Stone, or if you want a fun romantic and relationship building book or two I can’t say how much my husband and I loved going through Things I wish we’d known before we got married, when we were dating/engaged & The 5 Love Languages when we were married, together! 🙂 Once you have your book, find a coffee shop with either a gorgeous view or a unique vantage point where you can either enjoy the scenery or people watch like nobody’s business!
Go for a scenic bike ride, hike or drive together
Depending on what suits your fancy, you can map out a pretty hike that goes through woods of changing leaves and over waterfalls for a fun crisp picnic on top of a mountain side. Maybe renting a pair of bikes and cruising through a fun bike tail through the city, park or country side is more your style! Or even taking a day to drive through the beautiful countryside and take pictures of the changing world around us! Leaves turning colors and falling create gorgeous pictures! 🙂
Drive in Movie Date
Now I know these are becoming fewer and far between to find, but if you are lucky enough to have a drive in theater within a reasonable drive (we have one within an hours drive!) pack some hot drinks and candy and get some pop corn at the theater & don’t forget a nice blanket to cuddle under together, and settle in to enjoy your movie! If you don’t have one near you, I’ve seen people buy or rent a small projector and use their garage door as a frame for a sheet and they set up a drive through right in their drive way! How romantic is this date idea? 🙂
